Annual Provost Premiere Showcase

On April 23, 2026, the SDU hosted our annual spring showcase in Wrather Auditorium. This event was designed to highlight the talent of our competitors, as well as to recognize members of our campus community who provide essential support to our team.

This year, we were honored to welcome President Patterson, Dr. Roberson, Dr. Keller, Dr. Pervine, and Dr. Foltz. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our team

Coleton Boyd (freshman) performed an extemporaneous speech on the topic: “Should humans colonize Mars?” Additionally, two members of our team, Caleb McCurren (senior) and Samuel Harless (sophomore), performed a debate on the topic: “Kentucky should prohibit public universities from requiring students to live in student housing.”

Caleb represented the negative and Samuel represented the affirmative.

Our VIP judges this showcase were Dr. Chris Trzepacz, Dr. Ray Horton, and Mr. Kyle Johnson.Caleb won both the judges vote and the audience vote.

Our graduating senior, Caleb McCurren, was spotlighted and gifted a gavel inscribed with his name.

We would like to give a special thanks to some specific individuals who were in attendance:
